Radiance

Radiance Radiance is a breakthrough in paints for homes and buildings — the first-ever line of latex low-e paints.

Radiance paint's unique, patented low-e formula provides important benefits. Like low-e windows, Radiance improves a structure’s thermal performance. That means lower heating and cooling bills — five to 15% lower in a typical home. Conserving energy also helps protect the environment.

People are very sensitive to radiant heat energy. That's why standing in direct sunlight, out of a breeze, feels so warm even if the air temperature is low. In rooms painted with Radiance, about 30% of the radiant energy is reflected back to keep the room warm and the people in it cozier during cold weather. During hot weather, the "radiant barrier effect" reverses; you stay cooler and more comfortable because about 30% of the radiant heat trying to enter from outside is blocked.

Paint rooms in a home or building with Radiance, and you can turn the thermostat down (during heating season) or up (during air conditioning season) by 2-6 degrees. Our homeowner customers tell us they're saving as much as $70 a month on heating/cooling bills. Building owner/operators, of course, can save much more. Savings increase when Radiance is applied to all the interior walls and ceilings in a room. Remember: Radiance is the only paint that can pay for itself by helping reduce your heating/cooling costs year after year.

Because Radiance paint helps reduce energy consumption (and, therefore, air pollution) it helps protect the environment. It also helps conserve vital natural resources the earth's limited supply of coal, oil and natural gas. The U.S. EPA Energy Star Homes Program promotes the use of energy-saving features that can help make new homes at least 30 percent more energy efficient. Generating electricity often requires the burning of fossil fuels, which results in the release of harmful pollutants into the air. Household energy is responsible for 20 percent of all U.S. carbon dioxide emissions, the EPA says.

Easy to apply, Radiance interior latex ceiling and wall paint goes on with a brush, roller or sprayer just like ordinary paint. Radiance paint provides excellent coverage (up to 15% more per gallon than ordinary latex paints), so you may be able to buy less paint. When covering dark colors, a prime coat is recommended. Radiance paint gives rooms a finish as durable as it is good looking. Tough acrylic polymers make it long-lasting, washable and scrubbable. And cleanup is easy, too; all it takes is soap and water.

We guarantee your satisfaction. If you apply Radiance paint according to the label directions, and it fails to perform, we'll replace it with an equivalent amount at no cost, or send you a refund. (See the guarantee on the label of each can for full details.)

Radiance comes in specific formulations for interior walls and ceilings, for attic decking (the underside of roofs), and in a special dry fall formulation for painting contractors and building owner/operators.
